My road to launching ‘Shift by Frankie Jo’ has been long, and at times really frustrating. I knew nothing of the fashion industry or where to start. I knew what I wanted in clothing but was always disappointed when I wasn’t able to find it . Australian made has always been important to me. We have such a rich history in the clothing manufacturing industry, and I knew it was my best option. My first patternmaker Liz was an amazing help and she gave me the confidence and reassurance to keep moving forward with my vision. Liz taught me about fabrics, different seams and how pattern pieces are put together. But, I still needed someone in the industry that could not only make and digitise patterns, but also knew the manufacturing process. Enter Mel, a seasoned, knowledgeable and capable person who has been in the fashion industry for years. Mel is my lifeline in this crazy journey, and she continues to support and encourage me. I will be forever grateful to Liz and Mel for their generosity in sharing their wisdom, knowledge, experience and their friendship.
